Maju
My idea behind the poem was to highlight the personal struggle I, and countless others, have gone through when deciding what we are supposed to do with our lives. From such a young age, we are expected to make decisions we have to be happy with for the rest of our time. I personally fell into a terrible state of mind, and just hoped things would change for the better if I just suffered through it. However, through that I came to realize I can be truly happy with myself and my adjustments, and not to tie my worth to if I made the "correct" decision or not. My past is exactly how it should be, my present is all I have and it is truly a gift, and my future, as well as the viewer's future, will be as beautiful as we want it to be.
